Back To School Bed Shopping

by | Jul 31, 2022

Getting ready to go back to school isn’t limited to attire and school supplies. A revamped bedroom can create a feeling of emotional and physical organization and inspire a great start.

Loft beds maximize space with the bed on the top and storage, seating and even a desk below. Measure the room, checking the door swings and locations of the window, electrical outlets, vents and ceiling fixtures to make sure it fits.

Trundle beds and bunk beds sleep two children to a room without sacrificing space. (Consumer Reports suggests that a child is at least 6 before sleeping on the top bunk, but maturity should guide you) For an older child, a standard double bed is a practical choice. Suitable for a developing child it will work in a first apartment or a spare bedroom in an empty nest. Chest beds are also a great “storage problem” solver.

Domestic furniture must comply with stringent CPSC Guidelines, so is often sturdier and safer (children don’t just use furniture; they give it a heck of a beating.) Pay a little more now for quality and choose durable finishes that are easily maintained. Think about replacing mattresses too. You don’t have to spend a lot to give your child a good night’s sleep.
